Just in Time for Back to School: Transifex Joins the GitHub Student Developer Pack
We are super excited to announce that Transifex is now a GitHub Student Developer Pack partner. Students who have qualified for the pack can now access Transifex along with all the other best-of-breed developer tools GitHub offers as part of their program.
GitHub created the Student Developer Pack just over 2 years ago in order to provide students with hands-on experience with the best development tools available. Because those tools are often cost prohibitive, students were missing the opportunity to ‘learn by doing’ with the tools they’d want to use after graduation. GitHub remedied that situation by recruiting an impressive lineup of partners for the pack providing hosting, code review, and continuous integration, to name a few. And they’ve continued to expand the pack ever since.
So why is Transifex joining the GitHub Student Developer Pack?
Increasingly, building an app for market success means that it’s coded to meet the needs of global users from the start. And doing that right starts with developing code that complies with internationalization best practices even before the localization process begins. As those of you familiar with Transifex know, we’re all about providing developers with the resources and educational materials they need to get started. So doing this for student developers is a natural extension of our focus on helping the community get the knowledge and tools to tackle the development process robustly and repeatably.
Are you a student? Or do you know a student who might benefit from participating in GitHub’s program? Pass along the link to the Student Developer Pack details page, and get started today. There’s even a handy link for other developer tool providers to request inclusion in the pack.
